It’s Saturday! I can’t believe the first week (well, first 2 days) of classes in the Uni is over.
It has been a great week because the enrollment did not stress me out so much. I got 12 units during the preenlistment online, so I still had to fall in line for one subject (3.0 units) for me to get the minimum number of units. Last Tuesday, I was in UP at around 6AM and I was first in line for EL 50. Hahahaha! I got the line around 8AM when they started letting students in the enlistment rooms. :> I finished everything I had to do by 9AM. Ngayon lang uli ako nakapag-enroll nang mabilis!
First day of classes was Thursday. As expected my profs didn’t come. I don’t know why my French prof didn’t come to class (maybe she was still advising some students for enrollment) but my German prof told me she had to advise MA students and had to attend a meeting after. It’s almost always like that on the first day — profs don’t really come to class. There are even some profs who don’t come to class on the first week! Haha! But I met all of my profs yesterday. I was surprised to see that my adviser for enrollment was my French prof. My German prof? I knew she was going to teach that class. I was so excited for this class because she has been my prof in my German 11 subject and I loved her. ♥ I also knew who my EL 50 prof was going to be. Pretty excited for this class too. Hihihi. 😀
I really love my schedule this sem. I have 1.5-hour breaks every after subject. If I have 2 subjects with exams on the same day, it won’t be a problem since I have time to rest my brain and review a little. Hihihi. Aaaaanyway, schönes Wochenende! ♥
Today’s the last day for profs to encode our 2nd semester grades. My classmate tweeted that our grades were out so I checked my account immediately. I already knew my German 12 grade (1.75) but I was really nervous about German 13. Why? Well, my prof in those subjects was my prof in German 10. It’s kinda hard to get 1.00 in her class because of her grading system. Imagine my surprise when I saw that my German 13 grade was 1.25! I thought I saw it wrong. I really had to stare at the screen for a few seconds to see if it was true. I am just soooooo happy. Thank you Frau! ♥
P.S. I didn’t include my other grades since this post is only about my German grades. LOL
I checked the schedule for my German 14-15 class for the 1st sem (AY 2013-2014) and I saw that Frau Ong will be my prof again. This made me so excited for next sem!
Funny how there’s one word for everything. Hahaha! :))
When I make my schedule for the semester, I make sure that I start early and end early because I really hate going home late via public transportation. Unfortunately for me, my major subject (German 12-13) had only one schedule and it was TWThF, 4.00-5.30PM. I posted my 2nd semester schedule last week, and I had a REALLY long break every Tuesday and Friday. But during our first meeting last Thursday, my prof (who was my German 10 prof too, BTW) asked us if it was fine to change our schedule to WThF, 4.00-6.00PM since she will be unable to meet us on Tuesdays. (I’m assuming it’s because of her class schedule, since she’s taking up Law in the university while teaching.) It’s still going to be 6 hours a week. University rule! 🙂 We all said it was fine. It was REALLY fine for me because I can say goodbye to my 4.5-hour break every Tuesday. ♥
So today, we had our first discussion. (We had no class last Friday) Because I already know how my prof handles the class, I really prepared for the class. Like, I started preparing last Thursday the moment I got home. Hahaha! My prof even commented on my being prepared because I kept reciting, especially when no one’s answering anymore. She said, “bakit parang si Frau Fernando lang ang gumawa ng assignment niya?” (Why does it seem like only Ms. Fernando did her assignment?) I have to admit, I was really happy when she said that. I really am exerting a lot of effort for this class, okay. I really enjoyed the class that I didn’t notice that 2 hours had already passed. I wanted to extend. Hahaha! Well, I’m very excited for tomorrow’s class! ♥
Out of boredom, I decided to look for the German versions of the Harry Potter series. I found a complete set, alright. I want to try and start reading a book in German so I can practice and learn more words. The illustrations of the book are way different from that of the US versions so I decided to put them here for you to see, with the title translations. 🙂 (Harry’s hair on the 6th and 7th book look like burnt fries to me. LOL.)
Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone)
Harry Potter und die Kammer des Schreckens (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Fear)
Harry Potter und der Gefangene von Askaban (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban)
Harry Potter und der Feuerkelch (Harry Potter and the Fire Cup)
Harry Potter und der Orden des Phönix (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix)
Harry Potter und der Halbblutprinz (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince)
Harry Potter und die Heiligtümer des Todes (Harry Potter and the Relics of the Death)
No reading tomorrow, though, because I’ll be making the invitations for my cousin’s wedding. 🙂 My sister and I will be pretty busy tomorrow (and the next few days, if we can’t finish in a day). I guess it’s kinda obvious that it will be a beach wedding because of the invitation. Haha!
P.S. I’m just so sad today because my favorite niece-slash-goddaughter is sick. She has fever tonight. I really hope she gets well soon. 😦
